About This Site

Hello, and thank you for your interest in my mom’s house for sale in a great area of St. Louis. Nice clean streets, historical area, close to schools and UMSL. In fact, my late father Dr. JL Simmons, Phd, was a visiting professor at UMSL, and hence why my parents moved here two decades ago.
What is this web site all about? Well, my mom is now alone since my father passed away in 2003, and since my grandma passed away 2 years ago, my mother moved to California and is living in a community called Victorville which, where she lives, is made up of retirees. She is on a fixed income, has no retirement income other than social security, and she needs to sell this house to live on for the rest of her life. Literally.
Unfortunately, she put this house on the market during the middle of the current “economic recession” and, like most homes out there, it’s been hard to find a buyer even though it’s a great Colonial and brick home with large back yard and family-ready. It’s been a harder sell, too, because it’s not an “ultra-modern” home with the latest celebrity-endorsed chrome and stainless appliances, nor does it have a 21st century central air or heating system, but like all such classic homes built “last century” the technology of itsĀ time still gets the job done.
The downstairs family room, and office areas are ideal for daily living, and even for running a business at home. In fact, my late father wrote several books while living here, was interviewed here for radio and local St. Louis TV, and one of the non-fiction books, was a “Book of the Month Club” selection. My brother got his degree in Math at UMSL while living at home, here, before he moved to Washington State for an internship, and is now working in the computer industry.

Unfortunately, with the real estate market still digging out of its slump, my mom has had to lower the sale price twice (that I know of), and what was a lovely home to start with is now more than a bargain for the right family. If you have one or more family members planning to attend, or currently attending, UMSL, it’s walking distance (my dad and brother both did that for many years), and a great home at a great price.
Who am I? My name is Chris, and I happen to work in the Internet field, so I have setup this web site “Buy my Mom’s House” to help her out in what little way I can. She really needs to sell the house to live on, as she’s now living in my grandma’s old place in Victorville which needs some improvements, too. She’s had to put her life on hold, while waiting for this house to sell in St. Louis, and so I’m doing what I can to promote this great home for sale.
Thank you for looking!

ps – I have no relationship with the REALTOR who has listed this home for my mom, and I don’t get any fees for doing this. I am only doing this site to help raise awareness of this home in a crowded buyer’s market, in hopes more folks will find out about this great home. “Buy my mom’s house!”
pps – Because somebody asked, please note that I (Christopher) and my family are absolutely no relation to the other “Christopher Simmons,” currently on Missouri’s death row. The similarity in names is purely coincidental.
If you’d like to talk to the real estate agent about all the great things this house has to offer, please contact Constance Laughlin, at Prudential Alliance REALTORS®, at (314) 997-7600.
